Birth Stories
Gracen
I hope all is well with you and the class! We are happy to announce the birth of our daughter, Gracen Ona-Marie, on April 22, 2007 at 7:53 AM!! I truly had a wonderful labor and delivery. I started contracting at home on April 21 at 4 PM. They were about every 2-3 minutes but still not very strong. My husband and I went for a LONG and FAST walk just to try to jump start things! I really didn't want to go in to MCV unless I was really hurting and definitely in labor. So, instead we went to the store to buy a new camera and then on to a Mexican restaurant to get take out. I was still contracting every 2-3 minutes and they were starting to really hurt! I'm sure the employees of those places just wanted me out their doors! When we got home we ate really quickly and then decided to go in around 11 PM.
Once I arrived at the hospital I was only 3 cm and 50% effaced, but contracting so regularly they decided to keep me. We went walking until 3 am, which at that point I was checked and 4 cm and 100% effaced. I was in such pain I asked for an epidural at this point. After the epidural was in place, we were able to get some sleep, thankfully, and my water broke just an hour later. At 7:15 AM I was completely dilated and effaced. I started pushing at 7:20 or so and delivered at 7:53 AM! I only pushed for about 6 or 7 contractions! Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better labor and delivery. Gracen weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 20.5" long. She is a happy and healthy little girl! We are so in love with her! Thank you Leslie and Mary Jo for all the wonderful yoga techniques and moves. We loved the classes. We look forward to joining you in Itsy Bitsy Yoga. I've attached some pictures for you to see. Thanks again!
