Winston Davis

Hi Leslie! Hi Mary Jo!

I wanted to let you know that Winston Davis and I are doing quite well. He arrived on July 12 – made it to the induction date despite many predictions that he wouldn’t! I played Scrabble with my sister for the first few hours with pitocin – almost won, too! I was hugely frustrated to hear that I was still just 1cm after four hours, but when I got the epidural I went to 5 in fifteen minutes, water was broken, Winston arrived an hour later. I pushed through three contractions. Winston weighed 8lb, 8oz and was 21 inches long. We were home the day after he was born and have been getting into a pretty good groove! It may not be the typical yoga mom birth story, but I have a beautiful, healthy little boy and, as a wise yoga teacher once told me, there is no one-size-fits-all perfect birth to shoot for. If my only complaint is the number of times I had to be poked to find a vein, life is good.

I am planning on attending Mommy and Me next week with Winston. See you then!
