Birth Stories

Ainsley Lynn

Hi Leslie,

I am doing very well, just very busy since the little one arrived. She was born on 7/9/07 at 11:05 am. She weighed 7 lbs and 11.5 ounces, 20 inches long. I ended up having a C-Section because my doctor was concerned about the size of the baby due to my gestational diabetes and the weight I gained in the last 6 weeks. The ultrasounds were estimating her to be almost 9 lbs. I haven't heard of anyone being as far off as me when ultrasounds were involved. Ended up that she was not progressing into my pelvis anyway. She was pushing out and over my pelvis which is why I wasn't dilating or dropping or anything. I was very discouraged about the C-Section but once she was born, I didn't care anymore. My recovery has gone very well...much better than I had expected. Now we are still working on breastfeeding, but that has improved leaps and bounds since her first few days. It's going very well. Also, trying to get her to sleep in her crib and not wrapped up in my or daddy's arms. They tell me she can't be spoiled yet, so I guess it's ok for now.

Thank you for all of your support and advice during my pregnancy. Yoga was such a great activity for me, especially when the swelling and weight gain was unbearable! I look forward to seeing you again when I decide to have my second baby...not too soon!

Thanks,
Jaime W

I was new to Richmond when I took my first round of classes with Leslie and baby #1 (now twenty one months). I'm now almost 5 mos. pregnant with #2 and will sign-up soon. I loved being around other pregnant women and embracing our natural state. I also met some great friends in my neighborhood through the classes, and we really have a wonderful foundation to our friendship through experiencing the class together.
